Words for the wise

We all have done things that are foolish. But if we want to be wise it must be recognized true wisdom comes from God alone, that is it originated with Him, He authored it. Here is a collection of a few words of His wisdom, for our instruction and enlightenment. I endeavored to arrange them by subject matter. You can be sure we have not covered this comprehensively for His Word has much more truth to reveal to us.

Words of Wisdom

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools
despise wisdom and discipline.
Proverbs 1:7

Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom

The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes
before honor.
Proverbs 15:33

For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Proverbs 2:6

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil
Proverbs 3:7

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from
the snares of death.
Proverbs 14:27

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains
understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields
better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.

How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding
