Superman, Jesus Christ and You

Odd title I guess but once you read the listing you will understand why. The purpose of this post is for you to understand your potential in Christ greater. You are what God says you are!

Sure I think we could all pick out a superhero that we might like to be like. But the real superhero is Jesus Christ. He is the one the Christian should desire to emulate. But now we are ahead of ourselves.
Superman did not conform to this world but to the world he was from. On his home planet Krypton he was a normal every day person. On earth he was transformed into a superhero. If superman conformed to this world he would have been like everyone else.

Well how about Jesus Christ?
He did not conform to this world but he was transformed because he conformed his words and actions to what God said he was. He was a genuine superman, a true hero. He boldly confessed who he was and he acted on those confessions. He said he was light, he said he was the son of God and so much more.

Matt 27:43 ...I am the Son of God.
What are you?

John 6:48 I am that bread of life.
Do you have the manna of the Word to offer to people?
Absolutely!

John 8:12 ...I am the light of the world.
What are you?

He said he was from above, he said he was from the Father. Well how about you?

He said he is. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

If Christ lives in you then what does that make you to the world?
They come to the Father by way of Christ living in you, you show them Christ You open the Scriptures to them by living them and speaking them forth.

When we are transformed in our minds by conforming our thoughts to who God says we are we will live out who and what we are in the heavenly realm here on earth.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Think of yourself how God says you are to think.

Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (transferred, transported) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

You now belong to the royal kingdom of God you can be God's superman to our hurting world by being conformed to who and what God says you are.

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

How do you use your time?

Exodus 23:26b I will fulfill the number of your days.

God promises to fulfill the number of ours day what a wonderful promise but the question today is; How will I use that time? It is worth asking ourselves how do I use my time, am I using it wisely?

Ephesians 5 says (Amplified)

15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),
16 Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.

There is a video that will take about one minute to watch that will express this to you deeper.
Its here: YOU DO THE MATH

God bless you richly and He does.

Why did Jesus Christ Come? part 4

Jesus said;
I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
John 12:46

What is darkness?

Darkness is the absence of light.

It is the system of the world that has been promoted to us that we have followed like a trail to destiny. But has left us defeated, depressed, downtrodden, discouraged. all the time promoting its good yet in the end leaving us in failure and anguish of heart.

The scriptures tell us God is light.
and in Him is no darkness at all.

They also tell us That this Word of God is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Psalms 119:105
{Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.}

Light shows you where you are at for in a dark room you do not know where the door is, the way in or the way out. When the light is on you can move about freely because the light has exposed where things are. God’s Word does this for us. It reveals to us where we are at in life and shows us where we can go. That is why it is a light to our path for it imparts the necessary understanding and wisdom so that we can have purpose and direction in life. For when we can see clearly where we are then with the goal of being Christ like we have the light in our way to show us how to go in that direction.

You can be in perfect darkness yet God will be a light to you though His son Jesus Christ.

Micah 7:8b
When I sit in darkness, The LORD will be a light to me.

We can become sons of the light. When we are born again we are.

John 12:36a While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”

1John 2:8 Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.

Jesus Christ shone the light of His Father so we could also become sons of the light and shine forth that same light to our hurting world this light which is God and His Word will lift us out of the depravity of this world and fill us with hope and joy.

What he do - What accomplish here?

He restored us to the Father.

He came to give us his life, Gods life, spiritual life and its richness now. Not just eternal life but now here in the present time, a life to the fullest extent, exceeding abundant, in all categories of life. He came in at the point of our need and lifted us up to God’s high place of excellence.

Jesus came to lead us to the true light and to save us by our believing in him, recognizing the Father sent him for us. It does not matter your status in life, how rich or poor you are or what county you live in he came for you.

John 12:44 Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.
45 And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.
46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

Jesus came to give the rest we so desperately need because the world has wore us down and burned us out. It’s lies have deceived us and left us to die. Jesus came in at that point of true need, ffering rest to our weary souls.

Jesus said:
Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

What does he offer and for those who accept him and follow his leading?

To heal your broken heart
To proclaim freedom to your captivity -held captive by the world's lies and half truths-
To open the blind eyes - to heal your body-
To set at liberty those that are oppressed. Who have been crushed, and defeated by the systematizing of error in this evil world.

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

Jesus Christ did not come to give us religion, religion puts us in bondage and makes beggars out of us. You look at any major world religion and it makes beggars out of the people. Jesus Christ came to set us free. To lift us to the Father and His glory, His excellence. This way we could come boldly before the throne of grace and find grace to help in time of need. We no longer need to beg or cower before our Father we only need come before Him boldly to find the answer and help for our need.

Jesus came to tell us that God is real, that He loves us and the sacrifice of his son has made us lovely and acceptable in His sight. That our Father in not angry with us but longs for us to have a deep, intimate and eternal relationship with Him. The result being we could enjoy life now to the fullest in harmony with our God. Now our joy can be full.

John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Jesus laid down his life for us so that when he arose to new life we would arise with him and be filled with his same joy.

These are just a few of the great truths that reveal and unlock the doors to Why Jesus Christ came and the Father’s great desire for us to fellowship together. For our lives to become filled with His eternal love, light, goodness and peace.

No longer do we need to be defeated in any category of life. For in him we are sons of light and no longer are we held captive to living in darkness. But we are children of the King and members of His royal household once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our savior.

Why are we here now?
We are here to continue the work of Jesus Christ and bring light, hope and encouragement to our hurting world.

Why did Jesus come? Part 3

and Why did he need to suffer and die?

Not only did Jesus Christ come to reveal the Father to us.
Not only did he come to show us how we can be like Him and manifest God's richness to our hurting world through us.

He came to restore us to Himself to His family, to His kingdom truly a kingdom of love and light.

Man originally started in paradise in the garden of Eden. This was God's greenhouse of love, a place of perpetual joy and peace. But Satan deceived man so God sent His son in the likeness of sinful flesh to restore us to Himself.

The truth of the gospel can be shown simply in four parts.

First: God's original creation (paradise, perfect in every way)

Second: Satan's deception (he said did God really say, He denounced the integrity of God’s Word questioning God's truth)

Third: Christ's substitution (He bore the full brunt of sin)

Fourth: Man's restoration (By Christ's complete redemptive work we are restored to God's presence receiving God's divine life and eternal fellowship with Him).

This are most basic fact that outline the good news of the Gospel.

What motivated God to do this?
It started with that in the depth of God's heart that He wanted to restore us to Himself. He did not desire we should be left alone. His desire was that we would the fullness, the richness of life He had planned for us so that we could live a life far above the mediocrity of this present evil world. It was God's love that motivated Him to do this.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

In Christ we see God's love manifested toward us to restore us to the Father.

Jesus Christ came to rectify our disobedience. He was our substitute.

Romans 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Jesus took our place, assumed our guilt, taking upon himself our penalty for sin. So that those that choose to believe on him would be redeemed, restored to the Fathers royal family.

1Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

Christ suffered and died to bring us to God to restore the harmony and relationship that was lost in the garden of Eden.

Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience (Adam) many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience (Jesus) many will be made righteous.

In the gospel of John chapter three we read.

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

God in redeeming us by our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior transfers us to the kingdom of His dear son. That is miraculous removing us from the dominion of Satan and transferring us to His kingdom of His son.

Colossians 1:12-14 (NLT)
12 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. 13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

Christ came to show us the Father, When we look at Jesus we see what God is like, God is like Jesus.
He also came to show us, us that we can be like him and he came to redeem us to God by the purchase made in the shedding of his innocent blood for our sins and all its consequences. including our sicknesses.

Those that have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior have been made righteous they have been redeemed eternally.

God chose you from before the foundation of the world.
God bless you richly.

Words for the wise

We all have done things that are foolish. But if we want to be wise it must be recognized true wisdom comes from God alone, that is it originated with Him, He authored it. Here is a collection of a few words of His wisdom, for our instruction and enlightenment. I endeavored to arrange them by subject matter. You can be sure we have not covered this comprehensively for His Word has much more truth to reveal to us.

Words of Wisdom

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools

Book Review: "Jesus the Healer" by E.W. Kenyon

"Jesus the Healer" by E.W. Kenyon

This is a great book to read if you believe that God heals today or does not heal today.

Would make a great gift for someone who needs healing or desires to know more on the subject of genuine biblical deliverance (wholeness) that is provided for in scripture. If your seeking healing this covers the subject well so you can receive your healing from God. It will uplift and encourage you in looking to God only and manifesting your deliverance. I personally know those who have been healed from reading the Bible truths in this book.

Also recommended is T.L. Osborn's "Healing the Sick" which is a work that covers this subject thoroughly and should be in everyone's library (and read a few times) if you desire to bring God's wholeness and deliverance to people. (See Note 1)

Note 1: Of all the healing books I've read most recommended are:

Christ the Healer by F.F. Bosworth
Jesus the healer by E. W. Kenyon
Healing the Sick by T. L. Osborn

These were choosen because of their Scriptural soundness instead of experience over Scripture, though they each include some experience.

Movie Review: Esther movie "One Night With The King"

Our family just finished watching the movie, "One Night With The King" about Queen Esther.

We enjoyed it overall but of course there were things from the Bible that we either left out or changed. But much of the movie kept in fair line with truth and we found it enjoyable and a blessing to watch overall. Worth adding to a collection of bible movies I think.

Why did Jesus come? Part 2

Why did Jesus come? Part 2

Jesus Christ came to show us, us. To reveal to us our true potential.

John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

By living for God he showed us we could live for God and do the same and greater works that he did.

He showed us we could abide in the Word and get real answers to prayer, not just go though the motions.

John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

That we can bear much fruit, abundantly abounding results in our walks with the Father.

That we could walk in light and need not be in darkness anymore.

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

We could be free from sin, be righteous, serving God from the heart.

Romans 6:18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

That we could and would be complete in Him.

Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

He came to show us we can be like him and like our Father.

To show us how much God loves us and how we can love like Him.

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

John 16:27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.

Wow we can live life to the fullest. Jesus Christ showed us H O W.

You are God's best!

Why did Jesus come? Part 1

Why did Jesus come? Part 1

Jesus Christ came to reveal and show us the Father (God)

John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

We see in Jesus Christ what God is like. We see His love and compassion for man in the way Jesus lived, spoke and ministered to others. In numerous ways Jesus tells us why he came.

John 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

To find pasture is to find a place where you can rest and live to the fullness of your hearts content. With the Shepherd watching over you (in this metaphor of the shepherd and sheep), you no longer need to be filled with worries, fears, and doubts because the master shepherd Jesus Christ is watching over you. The life he comes to give each of us is the more abundant life a life to the full. In the world full of religion life always has a sense of emptiness, a lack of peace and joy. But Jesus wants our joy to be full.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

We can be full of joy as we keep His Word His commandments. The utmost commandment is what? To love.

Not candy coated, sugary sweet, false love but genuine and pure love from the heart. Not looking for what can I get, But what can I give.

1John 1:3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full. 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

God desire is for our joy to be full, our love to be complete, for our lives to be rich in Him these are just some of the reasons Jesus Christ came.

  1. Though He was rich he became poor for us so we could be rich in Him. (2 Corinthians 8:9)
  2. To show us the way, the right way
  3. To reveal to us the truth
  4. To guide us true living (the life)
John 14:5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

  • Without the way there is no right way.
  • Without the truth there is no being set free, no true knowing
  • Without the life there is no genuine living.

These are just the beginning and foundation of what Jesus came to do.

Something Better then Religion Part 2

Something Better then Religion Part 2

Now continuing on in John chapter 8 we read this

John 8:13 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, “You bear witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true. 14 Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going. 15 You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. 16 And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me.

Jesus did not judge according to the flesh (the senses) as men so often does and how religion always does. He judged according to the God's true light and will looking on the heart. This woman did not need condemnation, she already condemned herself in her heart she needed to be set free.

later on

John 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.”

Jesus spoke then to this woman according to what he heard from his Father. Which was true. The religious leaders were blinded from truth by their hard hearts and religion.

John 8:34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Jesus set the woman free not condemning her as the men in the record were. They sought to justify themselves by there actions which were not from a pure heart.

37 “I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. 38 I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”

Now the truth is exposed these men did not have the genuine light of God’s Word in their hearts. They were living and speaking by the flesh.

So how does one get free of religion receiving Jesus Christ into one's heart and walking, growing and continuing in the truth which is in Jesus.

John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Something Better then Religion Part 1

Religion has been the bane of Christianity for religion has been from man's point of view. What man says and what he does about God. Religions in general are man made, they put people in bondage. When Jesus Christ came to the earth He said it was truth that would set man free, not religion. So often religion is mixed with the truth so that those looking to be set free by truth cannot be, nor tell which is right.

There is an excellent record of this in J0hn chapter 8 that clearly shows Religion vs. Truth and how one sets people free and one puts them in bondage.

John 8:3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”

The Pharisees has all the markings and making of religion. Instead of letting the scriptures bring about a change of heart, which is repentance. They lauded their knowledge to put people in bondage and to control them Jesus Christ did just the opposite, setting people free.

They caught this woman in adultery and were only concerned with the letter of the law. They looked for ways to accuse people, Jesus and now this woman. So they come to Jesus says the Law (the law God gave to Moses) says stone here but what do you say?

They did not care what Jesus thought they only wanted to capture him in his words and deeds always looking for how he was breaking tradition of the elders or some other man-made law. These religious leaders were not looking to help this woman or her need. Thy only searched for fault.
Lets see how Jesus responds.

John 8:7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” 13 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, “You bear witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true.”

Jesus was without sin, if any man had the right to stone her he did! But what did he do? He did not condemn her. He forgave her and by doing so he freed her, he restored her dignity, her self esteem. Yes he told her to go and sin no more and the record does not tell us what she did in the future. Jesus is a true man's man one who walked in truth and one who set people free by it .

He came to set you free to from any bondage or anything that keeps you from being and living the best in life. See part 2 for the closing on subject.
